• Academic of different Universities in Mexico and The United States and extensive experience on international organizations mainly in the United Nations (UN)

  Head of the Political Analysis and Development unit of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs in the United Nations (UN DESA), here she ran the writing team of the Global Economic and Social Study, the release of the longest data worldwide on development topics.

  She had a prominent role in the Secretariat of the United Nations preparing the analytical contributions to intergovernmental processes which defined the 2030 agenda for the Sustainable Development.

  She started her professional career as an academic in many Universities in Mexico and in the United States and was one of the firsts researchers of the National Research System (SNI). Since then, she has a long list of publishing on different development topics. Her most recent book was published on 2018 by the Oxford University Press, with the title: The World Economy Through the Lens of the United Nations (a co edition of José Antonio Ocampo, Anis Chowdury y Diana Alarcón).

Graduated from Economic Faculty of the Autonomous University of Mexico, BA and Master studies specialized in the areas of planning, development and economic policy.
